Youth Clay Target Program

Created on March 7th, 2012 by rking

ATTENTION ALL YOUTH!!!
Are you looking for a different sport?
The North Carolina Scholastic Clay Target Program is looking for you!
The program is open to girls and boys, 8 years old through high school. There is also a collegiate division for young
adults enrolled in college.
The purpose of the program is to teach safe and responsible handling of firearms, to build character and citizenship and to
introduce young people to shotgun sports.
We anticipate at least one practice a month (usually on a Saturday morning 9am to 11am).
In addition to practices, our teams will be participating in competitions at other local clubs.
Youth do not have to be members of Durham County Wildlife Club to participate.
For more information and practice schedules, please contact Doug or Kim McKinney at sctp@mckinneyassoc.net
or 919-557-8221.
Check out the SCTP website at www.shootSCTP.org

Procedure Change for Off Hours Shotgun Certification

Created on August 22nd, 2011 by admin

Effective immediately the process for off hours shotgun certification has been significantly changed.

Briefly, all new members (or any “old” member never previously shotgun certified) will attend a basic shotgun class known as Shotgun 101 (generally given on the second Saturday of the month at 3pm, check club calendar). Following this they will go to either Trap or Skeet Certification (or potentially both). At Trap and/or Skeet Certification a “Dance Card” will be given to the individual. Trap Certification dates are on the club calendar. Skeet Certification dates will generally be the second Sunday of the month at 4pm (check the calendar).
